A keenly-contested local derby ended in victory for the visitors.
Kirkintilloch started brightly enough but it was Lenzie who drew first blood on the ten-minute mark.
Callum Dely fed Greg Burns and the winger shot deftly into the far corner of the net to give his team the lead.
The home side bounced back and Lenzie ‘keeper Carlos Christie had to be on his toes to save a snap-shot from 20 yards.
With Kirkintilloch on the ascendency, an equaliser looked possible but the next goal was to come at the other end.
On the stroke of half-time, Lenzie full-back Jonnie Walker sent a free-kick into the box which eluded the entire Kirkintilloch defence and finished in the net.
Half-time: Kirkintilloch HS 0-2 Lenzie Academy
The second-half was hard-fought but Lenzie continued to defend well as a team and offered little in the way of clear-cut chances.
Minutes before time, “a stramash” (as the great Arthur Montford would have said) developed in the visitors' box, but Christie collected bravely to keep his goal intact.
