Pollok went ahead after just five minutes through Alberto Vezza. Declan Smith pressed the full back whose clearance was intercepted by Scott Dryden and fell nicely to Vezza who skipped between the two centre halves before rolling the ball past his former Milngavie teammate Ross Fisher between the sticks.
Fisher was called into action again just a minute later when he did well to parry James Wiseman's powerful effort before getting up quickly to stop Brogan Murphy's rebound at the near post.
Those saves were to prove vital as his side drew level on twelve minutes when a cross into the six yard box was finished from close range.
The lead was restored five minutes later when Ian Wise's low corner was flicked into the net by Declan Smith but again, the advantage didn't last long.
The visitors were level again just two minutes later after a diagonal ball to the back post was headed towards goal unchallenged and although it was saved by Ryan Devenney, it rebounded off the hugely unfortunate Ross Pollock for an own goal.
Right from kick off though, it was 3-2 as Pollok advanced straight from the centre which culminated in Vezza playing in Murphy to the left hand side of the goal and the winger made no mistake as his fierce effort just snuck in at the far post.
Half Time : Pollok United 3-2 Finnart BC
The second half was a largely uneventful affair with both sides spending plenty of time in the final third without really carving out any real opportunities.
Pollok almost seaed the victory through an unlikely source after centre half Amir Khan bombed forward out of defence but his effort went just wide when one on one with the keeper.
The game came to life in the final five minutes though as it was turned on its head again, Pollok failed to deal with a diagonal ball to the back post and the forward finished from close range.
It got worse with two minutes left on the clock when Finnart were affored too much space on the edge of the area and the ball was curled beyond Devenney and into the corner of the net as Finnart snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
