U16's PJDYFL League
Venue
15 November 2014

Maryhill didn't get the start they wanted, after they went behind inside the first two minutes of the match, after bad defensive positioning left Josh Brown marking two Broomhill players, before the ball was drilled across the box to be met by the incoming midfielder who finished straight through the legs of Calum Clark, 1-0 Broomhill.

But, Maryhill responded with a few missed chances before they equalised from a free kick after a tremendous run by Andrew Peebles down the left was blatantly cut short, then up stepped Adam McGowan who curled the ball with power over the keeper to the delight of his team mates & the traveling support, 1-1.

Confidence grew as Maryhill went looking for a second with some neat passing and wing play but there was no end product as Broomhill were getting back into the half.

Half Time : Broomhill 1-1 Maryhill Juniors

Within a minute of the second half being played Maryhill took the lead with Aidan Lynch making, creating, & scoring his twelfth goal of the season when he received the ball wide right before sending the defender one way then the other dropping the shoulder and cutting inside another before slotting the ball in at the near post past the helpless keeper.

Maryhill soon saw themselves reduced to ten men after a red card was given.

Broomhill then gained themselves a penalty, after the Maryhill striker won over the opinion of the referee, much to the annoyance of the Maryhill team, coaches and support. Calum Clark in the Maryhill goal however, produced a fantastic save down to his right to maintain Maryhill's lead.

Maryhill then increased their lead when Johnn Cassidy struck an excellent freekick from just inside the oppositions half, which crashed off the underside of the bar and into the back of the net, sending Maryhill 3-1 up.

Broomhill were unable to come up with a reply as Maryhill stood strong in defence and saw the match out.
