Giffnock Soccer Centre's journey in the Scottish Cup continued on Saturday with a last thirty two tie at Eastwood against Kirkintilloch Rob Roy.
Once again Head Coach Sinclair deployed a 4-4-2 formation in the hope that the boys could replicate their performance from last weekend.
There was tension in the air all around straight from kick off and this was evident in the boys early play as they struggled to grab the game by the scruff of the neck but still looked by far the more dangerous side going forward.
For the first thirty minutes it was one way traffic with Giffnock guilty of passing up several half chances although nothing clear cut dropped their way.
On thirty minutes Giffnock got the break through they craved, an attacking move down the right brought what looked like a clear foul on the Giffnock player, the ref however waved play on and the ball made its way harmlessly back to the opposition goalkeeper who scuffed his clearance straight to Ross at the edge of the area. Euan took one touch, steadied himself and blasted an unstoppable volley into the net for the opening goal.
The lead was to last all of two minutes as against the run of play Rob Roy grabbed an equalizer. A long freekick was launched over the top of the Giffnock defence, the quickest player to react was the Rob Roy left winger, who finshed well from the edge of the box high over goalkeeper Smith. Really slack defending from the Giffnock Back line. This was to be the last of the action in the first half.

Big improvement was required in the second half if Giffnock were to progress to the last sixteen.
Coach Sinclair decided to shake things up and introduced substitutes Anderson, McAuliffe & Adair and this was to prove a masterstroke 2 mins into the second half.
There didn't seem to be much danger when Shields picked the ball up in midfield, Shields however played a wonderful pass down the side of the big Centre Back to Ross who raced away down the left flank, Ross cut the ball back into the box for the waiting Adair, who made no mistake from five yards to score with his first touch.
You could see the nerves lifting from the boys after this goal and they started to play as we all know they can and only two minutes after the second goal they grabbed a deserved third. A freekick from the left was whipped into the box by McCabe, skipper Tunn was first to it with an audacious flick with the outside of his right boot which looped over the keeper and into the net for 3-1.
The boys were knocking the ball about well now and on fifty eight minutes they made it 4-1 with a wonderful counter attack. Kirkintilloch launched a freekick forward much like the one which got them the goal in the first half, this time however Barber was having none of it and met the ball with a wonderful defensive header which found Ross on the half way line, Ross played a magnificent ball with the outside of his boot over the Kirkintilloch defence to Adair who sprinted clear and cooly slotted past the keeper with his right foot to seal the game.
The game was over as a contest now but there was still time for Rob Roy to be reduced to ten men when their defender was sent off for persistent back chat to the referee just before fulltime.
