Antonine welcomed Ardencaple to Mountblow for a very important league fixture. The pitch was in excellent condition despite the adverse weather.
Antonine started brightly in the opening exchanges, but after ten minutes the visitors took control and forced Andy Carroll into a smart save at the near post.
Brendan kelly then had to make a terrific last gasp challenge to prevent a certain goal.
On twenty minutes Carroll was called into action again to block the away sides strikers shot.
The impressive Ardencaple striker then had a couple more chances, but couldn't hit the target.
Inside the thirtieth minute Adam Boyle played in Owen Gallacher who quickly turned to unleash a shot which came crashing back off the Ardencaple post.
Danny Hamilton then tried his luck with a chip from twenty five yards, which produced a great save from the Ardencaple goalkeeper as he touched the ball wide.
With the scoreline looking like it would be even going into half time, Gallacher played a through ball which split the Ardencaple defence, which Boyle latched on to and fired the ball past the away goalkeeper, making the score 1-0 to Antonine going into the break.
Straight from the restart Antonine won themselves a corner and from the resulting cross Boyle doubled the home sides advantage as he nodded the ball home.
Half Time : Antonine BC 2-0 Ardencaple BC
After a poor first half in comparison to their usual standards, Antonine turned improved greatly in the second half and came flying out the traps, as they started to pass the ball about more and saw the larger percentage of possession.
Mark Sweeney had a couple of long range shots saved from the Ardencaple keeper.
A very neat move involving Miller, Mckendrick, Donaghy, Hamilton and Gallacher saw the away keeper producing a fine save to deny Antonine their third of the match.
Ardencaple were restricted to long range efforts which were all saved well from Carroll in the home goal.
Fraser James came close for the home side, but his effort went just wide and there was to be no more action in the game as the scoreline finished 2-0.
