Campsie sneak past Claremont in West of Scotland cup

Claremont AFC
Campsie Black Watch
U21's West of Scotland Cup - 1st Round
14 October 2014
The game started well for Campsie who dominated from the kick off and were creating chance after chance. On seven minutes Campsie made the pressure tell, winning a corner which was well taken by Kenny Wright. His cross was met by the head of Damon Welsh who made no mistake to put the visitors into the lead.
In the first quarter of an hour the match looked as if it was going to be one way traffic, with Campsie getting chance after chance and dominating all of the play. But it was not to be. Shots were squandered off target and any that were accurate, were hit straight at the keeper .
As the first half drew to a close Claremont had made very few opportunities in front of goal and any chances that they had created were dealt with by the young keeper Murray.
The second half was to be a different story with Claremont getting a lot more of the ball but they could not create any clear chances in front of goal.
Campsie again had several good chances to stretch thier lead but could not get the better of the Claremont keeper and as the second half drew to a close, what looked like being a high scoring game turned out to be a slim one-nil win for Campsie.
