Antonine travelled to Lochgilphead for their final league game of the season against a Lochgilphead side who are chasing the title. A spate of injuries meant that the Antonine team had only 14 players for the trip west.
Anotonine started poorly and conceded a goal very early on.  Poor defending allowed a routine ball into the box was allowed to bounce and the Lochgilphead striker nipped in to open the scoring.
To their credit, antonine kept their heads high and searched for a way back into the game. they began to play their usual passing game and in the 10th minutes they almost got the equaliser. A superb 25 yard free kick form Dean Miller proeduced an excellent save from the Lochgilphead keeper.
The pressure kept as Caleab Elliot saw his effort fly just wide of the target before chris Donaghy had his effort blocked.
Despite their efforts, Antonine couldnt prevent the Lochgilphead boys from extending their lead. A freekick was lofted into the box, the keeper came out but couldnt get there and the lochgilphead attacker duly despatched a fine header into the back of the net.
Another bit of poor defending lead to the inevitable third goal for Lochgilphead. A long ball down the right wing was whipped into the box, missing everyone until at the back post it was tapped home for 3-0.
Antonine were shocked by the scoreline but they didn't lose heart and kept their fight alive. This eventually paid off when in the 35th a miller throw in was flicked on to Donaghy who fired home his eighth goal of the season.
Antonine continued their assualt on the Lochgilphead goal as half time neared. Oqen Gallacher forced the keeper into yet another fine save  before Lewis Manley saw his chip drop over the bar.
Half Time: Lochgilphead 3-1 Antonine
The second half began as the first half ended with Antonine mounting on the pressure. Adam Boyle was the first to see his effort fly by the post. Boyle again found himself in space to fire a shot in on goal which was blocked once more by the in-form Lochgilphead number one.
Liam Manley was the provider once more with a cross into the penalty box which was headed just wide by Elliot. Donaghy then failed to get his shot away after finding a bit of space.
More misery for Antonine foollowed as they continued to waste chance after chance. A Donaghy corner was whipped in and met by Kelly who failed to convert the opportunity.
The half was played out mainly in the Lochgilphead half, but Antonine knew they had to be weary of the dangerous long ball Lochgilphead have on the counter. A long ball played the Lochgilphead striker one-on-one with Carroll in the Antonine goal which was excellently blocked by the Antonine stopper however the collision that followed meant the keeper played out the rest of the game with a broken ankle.
Into to final 10 minutes and Antonine continued to press. A corner fell to the feet of Kelly 25 yards from goal and his thunderous effort looked goal bound until it was bravely headed away by a defender.  The ball broke away and was played long to the pacey Lochgilphead striker who did well to beat the onrushing Carroll to make it 4-1 and game over.
Credit to Antonine however, they kept their heads high and kept fighting to the end. Another fine Lochgilphead save prevented Donaghy again from pulling one back and this proved to be the last opportuity with the game ending 4-1 to Lochgilphead.
Full Time: Lochgilphead 4-1 Antonine
