Glasgow East  continued their league title push against Gleniffer Thistle, with an away tie being played at home due to unforeseen circumstances, the Glasgow East boys knowing a win was vital to keep up their lead at the top of the league and hunt for promotion .
The game started at a very slow pace, with both teams taking their time to settle into the conditions that were surrounding them weather wise. Glasgow East were the ones who upped the tempo but and it paid off when they took the lead when striker Jayme Thomson hit a shot from 18 yards that the Gleniffer goalkeeper fumbled into the back of the net to make it 1-0 Glasgow East. Two minutes later and it was the team at the top who struck again, Cal MacLean playing in Robbie Copland down the right hand channel, who took his time before finishing into the far corner.
Glennifer tried to create chances themselves but it seemed everything they tried was just coming straight back down their throat's and this early in the game they seemed to be struggling to find ideas to unlock what already looked a solid Glasgow East defence. Sean Twigg in the Glasgow goal was finally tested not once but twice but the home sides goalie showed his class pulling off two brilliant saves to keep his side ahead.
With 5 minutes of the half remaining  the man in form, Jayme Thomson raced clear to slot home his second of the afternoon, it was a long way back for the visiting team who went in to the break 3-0 down to the league leader and having only two shots in the whole of the opening period.

Into the second half, & it was pretty much the same as the first Glasgow were the team by & large on top, a repition from the first half for the visitors they just couldn't creat anything up top and everything they tried seemed to be coming straight back at them.
After 15 minutes of the second half Thomas McMillan scored an absolute wonder strike volleying home into the top corner from 22 yards out to make it 4-0 Glasgow East.
After both teams had made a couple of changes in personal Glasgow then went on and scored another two quickfire goals, both coming from Jayme Thomso who scored his 10th & 11th goals of the season to put Glasgow in total control with ten minutes left.
With 3 minutes remaining on the clock  Liam McLaughlin put the icing on the cake scoring a fantastic effort from round about 25 yards out into the top corner, this summed up Glasgow East's day. A solid defensive performance clearing up everything at the back with ease and as for the attacking players you could say they were unplayable on the day extending their team's lead at the top of the Division 3.

Everything big Jayme Thomson touched on the day turned to goals, the big striker was clinical.
Rhys Gray always looked to give the away side an option up front but limited service stopped him scoring.

Rhys Gray's mazey run from midfield in to the Glasgow East box but Sean Twigg saved his shot well.
