EKFC Gold Under-19's ran out comfortable winners on Sunday, defeating Port Glasgow 8-2 in a strong performance in the Glasgow & District League.

Despite falling behind early in the match to a John Duffy strike, Kilby hit back through Jordan Craig to level before half-time and produced a powerful display of finishing in the second half to claim all three points, with midfielder Ross Smith netting a memorable hat-trick.

Raymond Lynch capped a fine showing to put Kilby ahead a minute after the break, running through the Port back line to produce a calm finish.

Ross Smith netted his first of the day shortly afterwards, before skipper Craig Howie kept up his impressive run of recent goal scoring to make it 4-1 on the hour.

Substitute Troy Maxwell made it five moments later before the energetic Smith helped himself to his second of the day on 70 minutes.

The impressive Duffy then struck again for Port Glasgow to cap a fine individual performance and reduce the deficit, before Kilby top-scorer Jordan Craig scored his second of the day, taking his total this term to an impressive 18 goals.

Kilby midfielder Smith, known throughout the club as "Smiddy" fitting had the final say near the end, completing his hat-trick.

The result secures Kilby's grip on third spot in the League table, and Stewart Anderson's men get the chance to put pressure on 2nd place West Park on Sunday, when the teams meet at K-Park, the game kicking off at  4pm
