Today's game in the Scottish cup 5th round between Renfrew Victoria and Harmony Row at Kirklandneuk Park saw the visitors progress to the next round after a high scoring game which saw Row come out 5-1 winners.

Harmony Row got the game under way and forced the issue from the outset as they scored a goal in the first two minuets of the match. Row's very early pressure forced a bad clearance from the Renfrew Victoria defender which was latched onto by Scott Paterson who crossed the ball into Owen Crumlish who headed the ball passed the goal keeper to make it 1-0 to the visitors.

Renfrew Vics looked for the instant equaliser and came close to getting it when they won a free kick at the edge of the box. Michael Kennedy put the ball into the box and found the head of Grant Elliot who headed the ball wide of the target.

The Vics pressure was short lived however as moments later Harmony Row doubled their lead; Ryan Fitzpatrick went face to face with the charging Vics keeper, Dylan Manual, but kept his cool to take the ball around the keeper to slot the ball into the empty net - giving the away team an early 2-0 lead.

Harmony Row continued their pressure when Owen Crumlish and Peter Bajenski both had chances to make it 3-0 but both came up short. Crumlish saw his shot from a wide angle hit the bar and Bajenski saw his long shot fly over the goal.

It wouldn't be much longer before Row made it 3-0 when Crumlish fired across a low ball into the path of Scott Paterson who passed the ball into the net, giving Harmony the 3-0 advantage.

Renfrew Victoria looked to get back into the game when Jordan Daly, Aaron Daniel Millar and Cameron Armstrong all had their own individual chances but the Rows defence stayed strong and dealt with all of these dangers.

Seemingly agenst the run of play, Harmony broke up the pitch when a defence cutting ball was played into Owen Crumlish, who controlled well and fired the ball passed the diving Vics goal keeper to make it 4-0.

Renfrew responded well as they won many free kicks. The most dangerous of which was put into the box by Aaron Daniel Millar, finding the head of Jordan Daly who headed agonisingly wide of the post. Renfrew also had their fair share of corners, but all of these were dealt with by Row keeper Reiss Dunn.

Row thought they had scored again when Crumlish had the ball in the back of the net but the referee deemed the play to be offside.

Renfrew Vics finally got their reward for persistence when Jamie Crawford long range shot came off the arm of a Harmony defender and the referee awarded a penalty which was scored by Mathew Lamont to give Vics a lifeline at 4-1. It also worked out to be the last real action of the half.

Renfrew Vics got us underway in the second half but it was Harmony Row who again started on the front foot. James Ballantyne had a shot at goal but unfortunately for Row, it went high and wide of the target.

Renfrew again found themselves with a succession of corner kicks but none were threatening to Harmony's goal.

Row though, would go onto add to their score line when Ryan Fitzpatrick knocked the ball through to an unmarked Aaron Christie who but the ball into the net without challenge to make it 5-1 to the visitors on the hour mark.

The final half an hour saw possession switch from team to team as both sides looked to find the next goal but there would not be any more to come as the game would finish 5-1 to the visitors, Harmony Row, sending them into the next round.

A fantastic victory for Harmony Row over their league rivals. They march on in the last eight of the competition, looking to emulate last season's semi final appearance and possibly go one better.
