The start of the new campaign started off with St Andrews hosting St Peter the Apostle in what looked to be a very tasty match for all spectating. This would be the first time both senior teams would be playing together so it would be interesting to see how both teams gel.
Straight from the off the away side piled on a huge amount of pressure to the Andy defense Andy McIlhill's cross was touched towards goal by Sam Gallacher but was saved easily by Garry Black between the stick for St Andrew's.
St Andrews then had a chance of there own to test the visitors goalkeeper when they won a free kick on the edge of the box and they did exactly that with Reece Delaney's free kick being tipped narrowly over the bar.
The deadlock was broken with only fifteen minutes played and it was St Peters who were the team to do it when a well timed cross from the right hand side was tipped in at the front post by Sam Gallacher who managed to lose his marker with ease.
The Andy tried to hit back immediately and nearly did when Reece Delaney's good ball in from a corner was met by the head of Declyn Brown who's header smashed the bar, not long after the visitors added another to there tally when a long ball from the back caused the home teams defense major problems which ended in Garry Black being chipped but Declyn Brown rushing back only to for his clearance to meet the head of Joe Toye who doubled his side's lead.
Half time couldn't come quick enough for St Andrew's who certainly needed time to regroup and try and figure out what was going wrong but before the break a ruthless SPTA side added not one but two more goals the first coming when Mikey Hopkins smashed a shot into the top left hand corner then again Hopkins adding the fourth but this time using his head after a great cross from David Seagrave.

Half Time: St Andrews Secondary 0-4 St Peter the Apostle HS
The second half started with St Andrew's knowing they needed an early goal if they wanted any hope of getting something from this game and that's certainly what they tried to do when Kieran McDonald showed great pace to beat his marker then cut it back into the path of Gareth Cairneys who's shot was blocked well by a SPTA defender.
A fifth goal was eventually added to the game but it wasn't the home side who got it, yet again some great play about the middle of the park from the away side ended in Mikey Hopkins slotting the ball home with ease to complete his hat trick.
SPTA continued to pile on the pressure winning numerous corners and missing chances left right and Centre and it was well deserved when they added their sixth goal when a cross from the right flank was spilled by St Andrews keeper Garry Black who's fumble fell into the path of Ryan Forrester who could only use his chest to direct the ball into the net and kill the game completely.
The home side still pressed though looking for a consolation and nearly got it when Declyn Brown pinged a ball up to Kieran McDonald who found space to get his shot away but Scott Wright got down quickly to save.
Eventually just before the final whistle The Andy did get a goal courtesy of Gareth Cairney who was left unmarked from a corner and smashed his effort low and hard past the SPTA goalkeeper but that was the last real action in this fairly one sided game. St Andrews will need to improve this performance next week when they host local rival school Smiffycroft.
