Five star Meadow remain in title hunt

West Kilbride v Irvine Meadow Youth u14'sIrvine Meadow made the the trip north, along the west coast, for a league match against West Kilbride. The visitors were looking to stay in touch with league leaders Balmoral Thistle, with the hosts looking for a morale boosting victory to climb the table.

After a scrappy opening to the match, Meadow began to take the upper hand. A Jamie Lambert header opened the scoring, with Daniel Orr on hand to double the away side's lead before the interval.

Just five minutes after the break, West Kilbride gave themselves a lifeline. A rocket of a shot from 20 yards flew into the net, giving the home side hope.

However, that hope was short lived, due to the red hot Orr. The Irvine forward extended his side's lead, before scoring twice more, taking his tally to four and Meadow's to five.

The final With Balmoral Thistle also victorious, against Meadow's local rivals Irvine Thistle, the Central Ayrshire YFA table remains as you were. Irvine Meadow are a point off the pace with seven matches left to play each.
