Port Glasgow Boys Club

Only 5 minutes into this game and a magnificent pass from David Marshall met the feet of Connor Duffy who took it by the defender and slotted it through the legs of the Langcraigs keeper.

The Port had plenty of play and the passing between them led to the ball falling to Thomas Liesk who put it past the post, Fortunately for him Connor Duffy was on fire and the passing between the boys enusred he scored again sliding the ball in from an awkward angle to make it 2-0.
Duffy almost had his hat trick on the 15 minute mark but a foul on the keeper meant it was ruled out, and so the Ports 3rd came from Captain Jimmy McGowan who tapped the ball in from inside the 6 yard box just before half time.

Half Time: Langcraigs 0-3 Port Glasgow Boys Club

In the 2nd half the Port stayed strong, a fine free kick from Blair McDonald was knocked on by Jimmy but sailed by the post, from the kick in the ball fell to Thomas Liesk who hut it hard into the top corner of the net to make it 4-0. Connor Hutchinson then stepped up with a 30 yard free kick but the Langcraig's keeper pulled of a fine save to tip it over the bar.

The Langcraigs keeper seemed to have perked up and he caught the corner well before stopping another free kick from Declan Coyle. But the man of the match was to carry on scoring and we watched as Connor Duffy's hat trick came with 15 minutes left on the clock.

Not to be outdone Captain Jimmy McGowan then beat 2 defenders and carried the ball into the box, he hit the ball hard and high to put it out of reach of the keeper and ensure the 6-0 lead.

With time running out a solo run from Duffy saw him hit a low hard shot the crowd went silent as they looked to the referee, a hole in the net meant the ball was now rolling around behind the goal but the Port were definitetly 7-0 up.

Some fine twisting and turning saw Connor Hitchinson beat the defence to play a perfect pass to Duffy to give him his fifth. The new boys continued to show their stuff and a corner from Dec Coyle was met in the air by David Marshall to header it home.

The Port scored again with a strike from Declan Coyle and then a long ball from keeper Connor Hair met David Marshall who picked the perfect pass to give Dylan McIntyre his first of the game.

The Langcraigs keeper never gave up and stopped another shot before Dec increased the lead. Some neat passing between Rhys Gray, David Marshall and Jimmy McGowan saw a pass through to duffy to give him 6. And just before the final whistle captain Jimmy secured his hat trick.
