Cambuslang beat OLM in a one-sided match which saw Derek Logie score a very good hat-trick. All the goals in the game were incredibly well taken.

Goals from Declan McMahon and Jamie McGuinness helped Cambuslang to victory.

The game started with both teams you could see were going for the victory but no one was really getting hold on the game then Cambuslang really started to take a hold of the game.

Cambuslang first real chance came from a set piece which was well whipped in from Logie but it was straight at the keeper.

Cambuslang’s next chance came through Logie again as his cross was whipped in with pace fell straight to Seamus Fraser but his shot was dragged wide. This was very good build up play but they were just missing the cutting edge in the final third.

But the goal did come after 17 minutes when a mazy run from McMahon split the defence then he was able to stick into the top corner with a cultured finish.

It could very easily have been two soon after when a one two between McMahon and McGuinness led to McGuinness having a great attempt to score but his tame shot was straight at the keeper.

The first chance of the second half when McGuinness went on another mazy run, he then plays a well-timed through ball to McMahon but his shot smashes the crossbar and was extremely unlucky not to make it two.

But the second did come after 40 minutes as the ball fell to Logie on the edge of the box and he hammers into the roof of the net to put Cambuslang into a comfortable position in the game.

OLM had a chance to get into the game when Matthew Kinloch beat his man for pace took the ball to the by-line and fizzed it across the 6-yard box but the defence were able to clear.

They were made to pay as Logie got his second of the match after some great football between the midfield and the front line and the ball fell to Logie in the 6-yard box who slotted the ball past the keeper into the far corner.

Not that long after Logie got his hat trick after the ball was whipped in with pace by Liam Donaghueand it fell to Logie at the back stick who had enough time to take a touch and put it in off the bar.

The game was well and truly done when Seamus Fraser played a wonderfully timed through ball over the top to McGuinness who took a touch and smashed it into the roof of the net.

OLM did have a chance for a consolation but Luke Campbell’s header was cleared off of the line by Jay McDonald to preserve that clean sheet for Cambuslang.

Star Player
Cambuslang Football Academy
Mathew Kinloch He was OLM's only real offensive outlet in the game and he was causing that Cambuslang defence all sorts of problems at the back.
Derek Logie Not only did he score a hat tick but the way he took all three of his gaols as well showed real signs of a very good player in the future. Not only that but his link up play, bring the midfield into the game was also excellent.
Magic Moment
Cambuslang Football Academy
Throughout the game and especially the first half they were really up against it and it was a very good defensive display from the back four and the mid field.
The first goal which came from McMahon was the best goal of the agme. The way in which he dribbled past the two centre haldfs as if they werent even there was outstanding. Also the way he took his time to set himself before putting the ball into the top corner.

OLM can take alot of positives out of the game especially from the back four who for the first half at least were able to with stand alot of Cambuslang pressure.
Cambuslang were by far and awya the better team in this game. Off the abll tehy were pressing extremely well, hunting in packs and tryi g to win the ball as high as possible. Also when they got the ball they were so quick from getting the ball from back to front.
