Lourdes High School claimed their first Glasgow Cup since 1973 after beating St. Peter the Apostle High School in a close final. Goals from Lewis McCracken, Abdul Yusuf and Mitchell McDonald secured them a hard fought win, after St. Peters put up a tough fight to give everyone watching a thrilling mornings entertainment.

The first half started slow with two chances falling to both sides. Connor Higgins had the chance of the half after Daniel Hamilton's searching ball forward found Tony Gallagher who squared it for Higgins but he could not sort his feet out in time and blasted high over.

The Clydebank side kept their head up and Owen Gallagher had a half chance from a Dominic Cairney cross. He could only glance the header wide of the goal. Lourdes also had chances and the pick of them fell to Lewis McCraken who hit the post and can count himself unlucky not to put his side in the lead.

The second half started with a flash as a McCracken finish from close range gave the Cardonald side the lead.

St Peters came out trying to equalise with Adam Boyle coming close. Connor Higgins then did equalise after an excellent solo effort 10 minutes later.

They were behind again soon after when Yusuf buried the ball home after an excellent run from McMallum who's shot was saved and fell kindly for the striker.

St Peters were so close to levelling but Tony Gallagher's effort was tipped over the bar wonderfully by the keeper.

They could not level it and were made to pay for this when skipper Mitchell McDonald finished again after a rebound fell to the Cardonald side and confirmed the win, but it was a struggle for them and St Peters can hold their head high. They have had a magnificent season compared to last season and now have to pick their heads up to win the league on Wednesday,

The chance that fell early to Connor Higgins he could not quite finish, but it was excellent football leading up to it.
The second goal was an excellent run and was unlucky for it to be stopped by goalkeeper Hinde but it was rebounded in by Yusuf.
