Celtic unable to get revenge on battling Broomhill

Written by  Broomhill SC

Fixture: Broomhill SC v Celtic BC
Competition: Under 14's West Region Cup
Date: 14/03/15
Both these teams were drawn together in a Cup Competition for the second time this season with Celtic looking to gain revenge from their Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Broomhill.
Both teams started strongly with Broomhill eventually taking control of large parts of the first half with the Celtic keeper making an outstanding save from the BSC left back Ewan Stewart from long range.
Broomhill continued to press forward and Gio Vezza had two chances to put the home team in front from corners, but these were well defended by the away team.
Calum Hughes and Logan McCarthy were taking grip of the midfield area and eventually, midway through the first half, some great wing play by James Littlejohn, sent Chris Melville down the right who crossed for Mitchell Donohoe to tap the ball into the net from close range.
Half Time: Broomhill SC 1-0 Celtic BC
Both teams started the second half brightly but again Broomhill took control and their persistence paid off when a great run and cross from Jack Muir crossed for striker Daniel McGarrie to head home.
As the game headed to the end Celtic started to push players forward in search of a goal and were unlucky in the last 10 minutes to see no rewards for their efforts.
Full Time: Broomhill SC 2-0 Celtic BC
