This summer, Primescout Europe are returning to Scotland, hoping to unearth some of the nation’s brightest footballing talent aged 17-20.

On June 21st (7:30pm), a Primescout select eleven will be taking on SYFA West Region at Sir Alex Ferguson Park, Row Avenue, Glasgow in the first of what will hopefully be a series of summer fixtures across Scotland.

The intention behind the proposed series of fixtures in Scotland is to build and develop a squad of players that Primescout can take to England at the end of the year and challenge some of the UK’s top youth teams.

Not only will the series of matches in England provide opportunities to record video footage of players that are looking to secure an overseas scholarship, but for those that want to pursue their footballing dream a little closer to home, players who make the Primescout side, will get the chance to play in front of English Youth Development coaches, in the hope that they may impress.

However, before they are ready to tackle the English, Primescout are reaching out to teams around Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness that are wiling to take on the their select squad.

Whilst the Primescout squad consist of players registered with them already, they are opening their arms to all players that are keen to get involved with their exciting venture.

Primescout Europe is an organization that looks to increase and enhance the opportunities given to future stars by placing power into the hands of the young athletes. Instead of waiting for an unlikely scout to cast a fleeting and skeptical eye over one of a thousand matches, Primescout offers the chance for players to promote themselves, and issue a ‘come-and-get-me’ statement to coaches and colleges.

The company affords a huge range of services, from allowing player profiling through the Primescout website and providing an information database of American colleges, entirely free of charge; to the premium package deals which include individual coaching from top Uefa qualified coaches, player consultations, and a very hands-on approach to securing successful American scholarships.

What sets Primescout apart from its competitors is its refreshingly personal and human approach. Instead of focussing on the requirements of potential suitors, there is a much greater emphasis on the players, gearing towards giving them the greatest chance to secure a well-matched affiliation with an organization of their choice.

Yet the support doesn’t stop there. Once in America, the players benefit from an unrivaled support structure provided by a network of Primescout USA psychologists and professionals, all working towards ensuring the players’ experience is as enjoyable and beneficial as possible. One player looking forward to embarking upon his American journey is Johnny Planas. The Harmony Row player is set to team up with Campbellsville University (Kentucky) this August to start a degree in Exercise and Sports Science.

Speaking to Johnny, he proclaimed himself extremely excited about the arrangement and concedes, “none of it would have been possible without the help of Primescout”. Johnny Planas is a tribute to the partnership between Primescout Europe and SYFA West Region, and lets hope it will continue to yield fantastic opportunities for players just like him.

Whilst facilitating the arrangement of American college/university scholarships is a key part of their business plan, Director of Primescout Europe, Chris Kerr stresses that their concern doesn’t end there. “The idea of playing in America isn’t for everyone.

“Ultimately we want to see young athletes given the best possible chance to succeed.”

Whether that is in America, through the application for scholarships, or still in the UK, making use of the chance to play in front of English Youth Development coaches.
