St Cuthbert's Wanderers are one of 20 Scottish teams heading off to Norway this summer for the world's largest international youth football festival. Castle MacLellan Foods have generously agreed to sponsor their representative Scotland shirts for the tournament.

Castle MacLellan Foods is a Kirkcudbright based food producer, supplying UK Retail and Food Service with exquisite Scottish high quality pates and terrines. Castle MacLellan is a member of the Kavli Group based in Norway, owned by the Kavli Foundation, a charitable trust committed to supporting good causes. Annually it donates profits to charitable causes, supporting research, humanitarian and cultural projects within the UK and worldwide.

They had received a letter in the post from St Cuthberts giving them information about the selection process and the level of funding required to send the young players to Oslo. As such, Castle MacLellan Foods are delighted to support the players  to compete at the highest level of youth football in the Norway Cup and the home of their owners – The Kavli Foundation.

The strong relationship of Castle MacLellan's employees and St Cuthberts was evident as they have been involved with St Cuthbert’s over many years. Sam Warren, Stuart Maxwell and Gary King are very recent senior team players. Tracey McGarrie is the partner of the current Secretary so the strong links they have to the Club on a personal level certainly facilitates the relationship.

As a final comment, Castle MacLellan Foods wanted to wish St Cuthbert’s Youth Team every success in the forthcoming Norway Cup and above all to have a fantastic trip and enjoy the experience!
Over 1,600 teams across 52 different nations take part in the world's largest youth football festival every year, the Norway Cup. Over 900 media representatives across the globe give the festival international press coverage, with games also being broadcast live on Norway's largest national TV station for sports.

Each Scottish team attending will be representing their nation through Youth Football Scotland, as we identified teams who would be positive ambassadors for our grassroots game. With one of the largest press representations for a youth event worldwide, there will be a keen interest from international media on Scotland's representatives.

Treat your team to a day of Skirmish Paintball

Written by
About 10 years ago we were asked by Scottish Rugby if we could design a paintball game to use as a team building tool. We did ,and have been using it ever since, for all sports related teams, including a large number of Scotland's major professional football teams including Hearts, Rangers, Hibs and Celtic as well as a large number of school and club sports teams. How it works is difficult to explain...I could write about bringing teams together, it does but it's so much more than that...

For instance, you can watch players often ignoring INSTRUCTIONS, and not working as a TEAM. You can also see players not being given clear INSTRUCTIONS by their leaders and not sharing  paint pellets when their TEAM mates run out. Trying to do it all ALONE and be successful will never work...I can guarantee you, working together as a TEAM will work better.

How long does it last? 3 hours minimum.
What you get in return? A TEAM that will work better together.
What does it cost? £25.00 per person.
How many people at a time?  A minimum of 12 players

Jerviston are one of many teams battling it out in the world's biggest youth football festival this summer in Norway. We caught up with Jim Bonner, group leader for Jerviston FC and Gary Montgomery, Chief Operating Officer at AGENOR Technologies Ltd.

Jerviston are taking a squad of 17 to compete in the tournament. AGENOR are providing £5,000 to help fund the trip of a lifetime for these young players. Bonner said that: "I (We all at Jerviston) are absolutely amazed and delighted to receive such generous support from AGENOR Technologies Limited".

The driving force behind AGENOR's decision to support Jerviston's cause was simple - their belief in youth development through sport and supporting community charities. Montgomery said: "We wished to expand that tradition with Jerviston FC while demonstrating our appreciation to one of our key consultants, Tommy Devlin. Tommy’s son plays for Jerviston. At the end of 2015, to recognise the positive contribution that Tommy had made to Agenor we offered to provide support to a cause of his choice. We have previously made charitable donations on behalf of Tommy and many others to recognise performance and contribution."

Agenor Technology is an award-winning IT Services company with a strong track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale IT Infrastructure Programmes on behalf of clients.  Operating internationally, Agenor has offices in Edinburgh, London, Amsterdam and Dubai. Our Consultants are the leading experts in the specialist areas of:

Agenor has also designed and developed ICEFLO, the #1 collaboration platform for the planning and execution of complex, large-scale technology deployments.

Montgomery went on to say that the: "Ability to provide support to Jerviston FC is fantastic and makes us very proud. We are a fiercely proud Scottish company and as such welcome the opportunity to support Scottish clubs, charities and many other causes. Nothing makes us happier as an organisation than being able to help others wherever possible, especially kids who often need and deserve additional support".

Finally, Jim said that: "On behalf of the parents, coaches and especially the players of Jerviston FC 2002’s, our heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes to all at AGENOR Technologies Limited.  AGENOR’s support has taken us a massive step forward to making a chance of a lifetime for our players become a reality to participate in The Norway Cup, the biggest international youth soccer tournament in the world.   It reassures all of us in the “grass roots” football community that there are companies such as AGENOR who are supporting the health and wellbeing of the next generation of our youth".
