The game being played on a 4G park and a lovely crisp winter’s morning conditions were perfect for a cracking game of football.

Salvesen with home advantage started the brighter of the teams creating the first of the chances, were dominating the opening stages and forcing Girvan to sit deep.

After some neat play from the Edinburgh giants Salvesen opened the scoring and continued to dominate the first half.

The second half Girvan came back and equalised soon after kick-off Brandon Rice slotting home.

Connor Gracie put Girvan in front after pressing Salvesen’s defence in to making mistakes and rifled home.

Salvesen started to come back into the game and after some neat passing, equalised.
They then went in front after Girvan’s defence made a mistake and the ball bounced over Ross in goal.

Brandon Rice buzzing up front equalised for Girvan after Gracie put in a wonderful cross and lurking was Taylor whose shot was saved from 1 yard out but Rice latched onto the rebound and slotted home.

Taylor put Girvan ahead again this time making no mistake in front of goal.

With 10 minutes remaining Rice popped up again to give Girvan a cushion and let them relax in the closing stages and with minutes remaining the lively Gracie was brought down in the box up stepped Jamie Dorans who made no mistake and send Girvan into the last 16 of the Scottish cup.

A fantastic result with a limited squad with Storrie & O’Neil both cup tied, Jack Smith signing with Kilmarnock , McCulloch & Holland both injured.
Man of the match was Brandon Rice with his best performance of the season. Girvan Squad Gillespie, Kelly, Dorans, Boon, Barrett, Gracie, Allison, Hamilton, Taylor, McAvoy, Rice, Ross & Nisbett.
