A CAYFA Under 16 league match saw Dean BC travel to Ayr Thistle. The early exchanges saw Dean play some lovely football, passing the ball
about with plenty of movement. This created the first goal of the match when a floated ball into the box by Dale Anderson, the Dean captain, was met by the head of Fraser Jackson to put the visitors 1-0 up.
Ayr had been limited to some long range efforts and set pieces which were always dangerous but all were cleared by the stubborn Dean defence until a powerful long range effort was not held by the Dean goalie and fell into the net to make it 1-1. Half time approached and Ayr were looking the more likely at this point .

Three changes made by Dean at half time seemed to spring them into life as they pressed the Ayr defence with quick passing and movement which eventually broke down their opponents when Kieran Gribben latched onto a lovely weighted pass from Kyle Scott in midfield to beat his marker and slot home to give Dean a deserved 2-1 lead.
Ayr tried to muster some chances and in fairness were unlucky not to draw level after being allowed to run right through the Dean midfield and defence unchallenged only to be thwarted by an impressive Dean goalkeeper.
The game stretched a bit with Ayr trying to find an equaliser and Dean trying to keep their noses in front but with 10 minutes to go the game was put out of Ayr's reach when Fraser Jackson powered his way through to score his second of the match and Dean's third, and that is how it ended.
A good game with the better team coming out on top!
