With Victory park still unplayable Girvan moved their home tie against Ayr Juniors down to Ballantrae on a fine crisp day.

Girvan started the game playing uphill and Ex Ayr striker Matthew Taylor causing his old team all sorts of problems with his darting runs one of which led to him being brought dow in the box the ref giving a penalty, Taylor stepped up and coolly slotted the ball into the net.

The first half was flowing from end to end with both teams having chances and a fantastic battle for control of the midfield between Hamilton of Ayr, and Girvan's Mark Allison.

Ayr were really pushing for an equaliser and Campbell on the wing with his skill and trickery was proving to be a real handfull for the Girvan defence and this led to Ayr being awarded a penalty, with Donaldson stepping up to convert.

The visitor's were right on top now and pushing for another, Hamilton hitting a pile driver at Gillespie who parried the ball out and Donalson was quickest to react and slotted the ball home. Ayr kept the lead till half time.

Half Time: Girvan YFC 1998's 1 - 2 Ayr Juniors 1998's

Girvan reshuffled wiith Kyle McCulloch coming off injured and replaced by Reagan McGurn, playing down hill now Girvan started getting into this game and using the width to their advantage, Daniel Storrie using his pace and terrorising the Ayr defence linking up with Brandon Rice to rifle the ball into the net.

Girvan were starting to get a grip on the game now and Taylor now playing wide right flighted in a wonderful cross for Storrie to head past the Ayr keeper.

Jamie Dorans who has been sensational this season was having one of his quieter games, however he showed a bit of individual genius, skipping past 3 Ayr defenders before hitting an unstoppable 30 yard shot into the net.

If Girvan thought the game was finished how wrong could they be Craig Holland hit a pile driver past Gillespie in goal.

Girvans defence of Smith , Irvine, Barrett, and  Allison held out till the end to make it Girvan Youth 4 Ayr Juniors 3.
