Galston BC Under 16s vs Cumnock Juniors Under 16s
West of Scotland YFL
Galston BC played against Cumnock Juniors in their first game back from the winter break. Both teams eager were to get a win which would see them get three vital league points and make up ground on the teams above.
The game got underway with Cumnock kicking off at St Joseph's academy with the wind against them. This was shown clearly from the start as Galston dominated early on. From this they scored a well worked goal with Connor Campbell and Martin Findlay combining for Findlay to score.
After this Galston continued too press and were working the ball about and soon the ball was in the back of the net again whenConnor put through Liam Wilson who finished the chance. By now Galston were in control and after a few chances scored again this time from a corner which Wilsoj was on the end of to head in .
The game slowed down now with both teams playing good football but then a quick break from Jamie Grant who beat a couple of people who played a one two and slotted the ball into the net with Connor Campbell setting up this third goal of the day.
Half time now came and Galston looked comfortable and when the game started again the game looked over when another corner was converted by Cammy Paterson.
Cumnock had other plans and started to attack more and then broke which lead to a goal from a tight angle. After this goal the game became a bit scrappy with both teams putting in some bad tackles.
With five minutes left the home side scored another goal with a well worked move. Then in the last minute Declan Adam, who was having a fine game, won the ball wide and played it to Jamie Grant who flicked it back past the defender. Adam latched onto the flick, looked up and saw Jamie in loads of space and laid the ball into his path, which was met by a cool finish.
