Ayr Boswell blow away Troon to earn three points

Written by  Ayr Boswell

Fixture: Ayr Boswell v Troon Thistle
Competition: Under 15's WOSYF League
Date: 31/01/15

Ayr Boswell started the match the way their manager had asked them to and Troon were finding it hard to get to grips with how Boswell had started.

Boswell thought they had taken the lead from a goal mouth scramble that saw Jack Taylors shot saved from the Troon goalkeeper, who put the ball onto the bar.

Troon were finding it hard to get out their own half.

Boswell took the lead after some great play and one touch football, which saw Stevie McClelland start a fine move, before getting himself into the box and scoring with a well placed header.

The second goal followed soon after and came in the form of a quickly taken free kick, knocked to the side by Ross Copeland to Jack Taylor who from thirty yards lashed a shot that gave the Troon goalkeeper no chance.

Troon at this point were finding the going pretty tough and before the half time whistle Boswell extended their lead to three, with another long distance shot from twenty five yards, struck by captain Ross Copeland again giving the Troon goalkeeper no chance.

Half Time : Ayr Boswell 3-0 Troon Thistle

The second half was played at a slower pace, but the ball retention by Boswell was there for all to see and with Troon offering no resistance the home side took control of the match.

After some great inter linking play the fourth goal for Boswell came, through Stevie mcclelland who followed up his own shot coming off the crossbar and nodded the ball into the net.

The game was played in good spirit by both teams.
