In a bitterly cold and wet day for football Tynecastle F.C. Colts faced North Berwick Colts in a league game on the 3G pitch at Saughton.
Tynie goalkeeper, Ryan Greechan, kept his team in it over the first ten minutes after great pressure from North Berwick with three great saves as Tynie battled to get going facing into the wind.
As what can happen in football Tynie found their feet and opened the scoring with a fine goal from Jack Carr low into the left hand corner of the net after a great defence splitting pass from Liam Miller.
North Berwick kept pressing for an equaliser their play deserved while Tynie with the pace of Carr up top always created a threat.
Half Time : Tynecastle FC Colts 1-0 North Berwick Colts
Early in the second half a couple of well worked set pieces ended with Jamie Phayre scoring two great headers to enable Tynie to dominate the game with the wind behind them.
The fourth goal for the home side came five minutes later after brilliant wing play down the left by Bailey Gardner allowed a simple tap in for Jack Carr.
However, North Berwick fought back, scoring a couple of brilliant goals, totally changing the game.
Now the game became really end to end with Jack Carr making it 5-3 with a solo effort from the right wing, then North Berwick scored another fine goal to make it 5-3.
Jack Carr got his fourth of the game before North Berwick finished the scoring with a tap in after a block from the Tynie keeper.

Credit to both sets of players, well refereed by John Thomson, for putting on a goal fest in treacherous conditions and to NB players, coaches and parents making the journey to Edinburgh for the game.
