Tuesday night saw Leith Athletic Colts take on Edina Hibs in a fiercely contested league game at Meadowbank.
Edina started the match brightly taking the game to their hosts and forcing an early save from the Leith goalkeeper Glendinning. This spurned Leith into action and they started passing the ball about with their first attack leading to Eddington finishing well following a great ball from the midfield however the referee chalked it off for a hand ball.
It wasn’t long before they scored again and this time Murdie made no mistake with a great strike.
Monaghan was then unlucky to see his free kick finish just wide of the post. The Leith centre mid pairing of Enguidanos and Scotland where now controlling the midfield and spraying passes left and right with Montgomery, Shaw, Monaghan and Milne all getting forward and supporting the front two.
Another great ball from the middle was sent out to the right and Milne showed great composure to finish well.
The Leith centre backs Coppola and Webley coped well with the Edina attacks and a great clearance pass from Coppola resulted in Eddington making it 3-0.
Edina managed to pull a goal back just before half-time..
Half Time: Leith Athletic Colts 3-1 Edina Hibs
The second half started as the first  had with Edina pushing forward but Leith where not for letting their lead slip with terrific work rate from every player, time and again. Edina thought they had found a way through only for a Leith player to get a toe in or do enough just to break down the attack.
Leith were unlucky not to increase there lead first by a great corner from Monaghan which was met by the head of Scotland who was unlucky to see it skiff the top of the bar, then Scotland and Enguidanos  went close with free kicks, however it was Milne who scored his 2nd of the night when Montgomery fed the ball through to him on the right. .
Edina managed to get a goal back but it was Leith who had the final say with another good finish from Murdie to make the final score 5 - 2.
Full Time: Leith Athletic Colts 5-2 Edina Hibs
