On a windy day at South Queensferry Community High School, KSQ who have been unbeaten in the League took on Preston Athletic who are sitting 3rd place. These teams have already met in the league this season when KSQ were 3-1 winners.

KSQ started KO with the strong wind behind them, getting several shots at goal. It looked as if this could be one of the home teams run away wins. After 10 minutes Preston made a break up the left wing, resulting in a left footed volley from outside the box to open the scoring.

Following this goal Preston seemed to gain the confidence and determined to keep the lead against a much taller opposition.

Towards the end of 1st half KSQ made a break up the right. A defensive error gave KSQ a chance to equalize and they took it, sticking the ball in the back of the net before falf time.

Half Time: Kirkliston & South Queensferry 1-1 Preston Athletic

The second half started with the wind dying down and both teams able to play better passing game. This half had both teams with equal posssion and both goalies have to make some good saves.

With about 5 minutes left Preston were a man down due to player being injured and shortly followed with a 2nd injury. With no subs so it was 11 against 9 men until the end of the game.

However, despite the disadvantage, after a goal mouth battle Preston managed to get ball into the back of the net and seal an unlikely victory.
