Leith prevail in five goal thriller

This was the 5th meeting of these teams this season with everyone involved hopeful of an exciting and open game, particularly on an excellent Meadowbank surface. Unfortunately the weather was to be too severe for any consistent periods of open football with both teams struggling to play in a gale force wind.
Edina came out the traps in the 1st half and with a strong wind assisting them went one goal up.
Both teams tried hard to play attacking football however it was Leith who managed to get into the game through a well worked equaliser scored by Jack Enguadious.
Half Time: Leith Athletic Colts 1-1 Edina Hibs
The second half was a reversal of the 1st with Leith coming out and using the wind to gain long periods of possession in the Edina half.  The second goal came through a speculative effort by John Webley, his second goal of the season.
The third Leith goal came through the best move of the match with one touch football linking, Matthew Scotland, John Webley and finished superbly by Lewis Eddington.
Edina however kept going and never gave up with them pressing and harrying the Leith players trying to get back into the match. Their just reward came late in the game reducing the deficit to 1.
The game finished 3-2 with another good win for Leith. Great credit goes to all the players, coaches and referee for playing this game and keeping the spectators entertained with a five goal "thriller"
