Milton this week were home to last seasons champions Shotts. This was a top of the table clash by 2 teams who will be in contention again this season.

The match started at a fast pace with both teams creating chances, no one was able to capitalise on this, however throughout the game both goalkeepers were on top form.

The football on display was excellent and with both teams producing a high level, this seemed to cancel each other out and for most of the 1st half this was a midfield battle. Craig Hunter had a shot from distance save by the keeper, and we had other efforts off target.

The second half started similar to the first and Milton were unlucky on a few occasions after stepping up the play.
Morgan Reid came close when his 23 yard effort went over the bar and Jordan brown free kick from 30 yards also went over the bar. On the left hand side Adam Beirne was unfortunate when his shot from 7 yards was saved by the Shotts goalkeeper and Craig Martin was also unlucky when his attempt lob the advancing keeper from 14 yds was blocked.

The second half was as entertaining as the first and credit to both teams for making this a good game of football to watch. Both teams pushed for the winner towards the end of the half but were unable to find the net.

Milton have now gone 9 league games, winning 8 and drawn 1 and still to concede a league goal yet. This is an excellent achievement in the West Lothian league.
Players man of the match was Morgan Reid
Well done guys. Milton wish Shotts all the best for the rest of the season.
