U16s WLAYFC League
Bankton Mains
A tightly contested game saw both these sides cancel each other out in this Under 16’s morning league match at Bankton Mains.

It was an evenly match fixture played by both in blustery conditions. There was not many goalscoring opportunities with both defences coming out on top on most occasions. Neither team could break the deadlock going into half time.

Half time: Murieston United 0-0 Broxburn Athletic Colts

The first goal of the game came soon after the restart on 41 minutes, a powerful strike from the edge of the 18 yard back struck the underside of the bar to give Murieston the lead.

Broxburn levelled just nine minutes; a well weighted free-kick from Kyle Butt into the box was headed back across the keeper by Marcus Millar and into the far corner.

Both teams had a chance to clinch victory as the game went into the closing stages with a one on one with the keeper, Broxburn's effort from Jon-Paul Dickson was well saved by Matthew Campbell.

Murieston’s chance coming after Broxburn defender Ryan Lees appeared to be fouled by Murieston’s Lee Coulter, but with just Wilson to beat, Coulter pulled his effort wide.

Nothing more could be done to separate these sides as the referee brought the game to a close.

Full time: Murieston United 1-1 Broxburn Athletic Colts
