Livingston FC BC booked their place in the County Cup final after a hard fought victory against Broxburn Athletic Colts.

The first half saw Livingston playing into a strong wind and this meant they were pegged back into their own half for the majority of the first 35 minutes. Broxburn applied some heavy pressure and the Livingston defence as always were coping admirably. Some well timed tackles from Ciaran and Jack in the full back positions were backed up by Des and Harry blocking and fighting for every ball that came their way.

The Livingston midfield were having to work very hard, Lewis D and Darragh were struggling to get into the game and as a result we found it hard to get the ball into Declan and Lewis A on the wings and Euan and Fraser upfront.

Broxburn were well on top and almost went ahead when Cammie was left 1v1 only for the strikers shot to come back of the post, a real wake up call for the Livingston boys. They managed a couple of breakaways in the first half which saw Fraser get in behind and despite these coming to nothing he never gave up and was eventually to get his reward.

Euan picked up a loose ball in the middle of the park after a clever pass from Lewis D, he turned his man and played a wonderful through ball for Fraser leaving him 1v1 with the Broxburn keeper and given his form this season there was only going to be one outcome! 0-1 A great goal against the run of play in difficult conditions and the perfect time to score with not much time until half time.

Livingston started to come more into the game and won a free kick in a dangerous position, Euan crossed the ball into the box and it broke to a Broxburn player one pass later and there number 9 was through on Cammie, a well struck shot seemed destined to find the net until Cammie produced a stunning stop tipping the ball onto the cross bar.

Half time: Broxburn Athletic Colts 0-1 Livingston FC BC

Livingston started the second half very well and with the wind at their backs now they took control of the game. Darragh won a 50/50 in the middle of the field and the ball broke to Euan, his first touch took him past the defender and his second found the net from 20 yards, great strike! 0-2.

Livingston were well on top now and it was soon 3, another pass through for Fraser found him bursting away from the defence and he once again finished expertly past the onrushing keeper. 0-3.

Just when it seemed we were in complete control of the game and looking for a fourth goal Broxburn got back into the game, some slack defending in the Livingston box and appeals for a foul turned down saw the ball break to their number who smashed it into the net 1-3. This gave Broxburn a massive lift and suddenly Livingston found ourselves under pressure. A long ball over Livingston's defence found Broxburn's number 9 and as he ran toward goal he fired the ball low past Cammie, a great finish. 2-3 and all to play for!

The next goal was always going to be crucial and it went Livingston's way, Calum won the ball in the centre circle and played a sublime pass through for Fraser, this time with a wee bit more work to do he beat the last defender and then rounded the keeper leaving a tight angle but the finish was never in doubt as he fired home the sixth and final goal of the game and a Semi-final HAT-TRICK! 2-4.

The boys were fighting for everything now with some crunching tackles going in from Ciaran, Darragh and Lewis D. With 15 minutes to go Livingston made further changes to try and hold what they had with Euan and Declan dropping to the defence and Sean and Kyle coming on to try and help snatch another goal however there would be no more goals and the match would end 2-4 in our favour.
