Broxburn Athletic Colts visited Little Kerse, the home of Syngenta Juveniles, for a highly anticipated league match between two high flyers. Syngenta were unbeaten, with two draws to their name, whereas Broxburn had been defeated just once, meaning both sides had only dropped two points prior to today.

The away side dominated most of the first half with some lovely attacking football. Marcus Millar nearly had Broxburn ahead with a header just over on the 11 minute mark.

Broxburn went close again in 14 minutes, Andy Drysdale breaking into the box and hitting a powerful strike, which was turned over the bar.

From Liam Gallagher's resulting corner Athletic deservedly went ahead, Jon-Paul Dickson bulleting a header home from 6 yards.

Syngenta came more into the game this half and were level in 49 minutes, almost identical to Broxburn's goal. From a corner, rising unmarked to head past the rooted keeper.

The game appeared to turn in Syngenta's favour when the away were reduced to 10 men in 57 minutes. It looked more like a yellow card offence, but the referee produced a straight red to Ross Gorman, to the astonishment of the player and Broxburn's sideline.

Syngenta were to go ahead in 67 minutes, a well worked goal finding the far corner of the net from the edge of the box.

Broxburn battled on and were to score a deserved equaliser with just a minute of regulation time remaining. A cross from the right from Jordan Grieve was met by Millar with a header from 10 yards out which looped into the top corner.

The home side pushed for a winner during a lengthy period of stoppage time, but Broxburn held out for a draw.
