Shotts YMCA met Fauldhouse Foxes in a highly anticipated local derby match, between two neighbours either side of the North Lanarkshire, West Lothian border. Since dropping points on the first day of the season, both teams have been on a relentless winning run, not dropping a single point. They are both involved in a six way fight to capture the league title which Foxes have won for the two previous years - Milton, Murieston, West Caleder United and Bo'ness United also hoping to have a say.

The sides have met once before and if a similar game was in store, both sets of fans were in for a rollercoaster ride. Shotts came out on top, 5-4 after extra time, in a thrilling South East Region Cup tie.
Fauldhouse got off to the perfect start, taking the lead courtesy of David Paterson. They were given the chance to extend their lead later in the half, when awarded a penalty kick for handball. Paterson stepped up and scored his and Foxes' second of the match.

The score remained 2-0 at half time, with the visitors seemingly in control. However, a dramatic second half was in store.
Dylan King restored hope for the home side, reducing the deficit to a single goal. This was followed by another goal from Dale Baxter, levelling the scores at 2-2.

With the tie in the balance, it could have went either way, but the momentum stayed with Shotts. Gary McGeouch was on target with what turned out to be the winning goal, much to the delight of the home support.
The final whistle blew, confirming Shotts would keep all three points in North Lanarkshire. No doubt these two teams have an exciting run in ahead of them.
