This fixture was a good game played out by both teams on a heavy pitch that passed a late referee's inspection.

Two goals came early, with United first to score, Broxburn levelling within sixty seconds, the United keeper Conor Holt failing to hold a powerful angled strike from Jamie Henderson and left James McGregor with an easy tap in.

Colt's Jon-Paul Dickson rattled the post on twenty one minutes with a good effort with the rebound finding the grounded Holt's arms. Broxburn went ahead a minute later, a cross from the left from Dickson evaded the United defence for another easy tap in from six yards, this time from Henderson.

Broxburn added a third in thirty three minutes, a great through ball from Marcus Millar picked out Dickson who fired into the far corner of the net from twelve yards. United were back in the game two minutes later, a fine looping header from inside the box gave keeper Wilson no chance.

Half time: West Calder United 2-3 Broxburn Athletic Colts

The second half was a scrappy affair played in difficult conditions. Broxburn were to go further ahead in 48 minutes, a massive scramble in the goalmouth resulted in the ball crossing the line (just), as the well positioned referee awarded the goal with Millar claiming last touch.

Broxburn scored again in fifty one minutes, a well weighted cross from McGregor from the right was headed home by Declan Kerr via the front post from eight yards out out.

Both teams created more goal scoring opportunities but the nearest to another goal from both was a goal line clearance from Kyle Butt to foil United's Graham Miller & an effort from distance from Broxburn's Ross Gorman striking the crossbar in 78 minutes.
