A cold Saturday morning saw third place East Calder Colts take on second place Fauldhouse FCA Reds.

East Calder started the game with 10 men due to injuries and illness, Fauldhouse used this to their advantage and went on to win the game.

The game got off to a flyer when Marc Quipp's effort smashed against the bar in the 3rd minute. Fauldhouse's pressure soon broke the East Calder defence when Quipp rounded the keeper to score in the 4th minute.

Fauldhouse continued to pressurise and that soon paid off when Marcus Warrington made it 2-0 in the 5th minute. It was soon 3-0 when Quipp scored with a delightful finish in the 10th minute.

The away side kept applying the pressure when Quipp, with fantastic foot work to go through the East Calder defence, put his effort just past the post.

Fauldhouse continued to dominate possession made it 4-0 in the 25th minute when Robby Mullen slotted it past the keeper.

Half Time: East Calder Colts 0-4 Fauldhouse FCA Reds

East Calder started the second half on a bright note. Straight from the centre Kieran Moncrieff outmuscled the defender and then powered the shot past the keeper.

The second half was a real midfield battle, with both sides giving everything they had. The next goalmouth incident saw Fauldhouse awarded a penalty for hand ball inside the area. Robby Mullen stepped up and confidently slotted it into the corner in the 46th minute.

The game was battled hard and Fauldhouse got another goal, this time Brandon Forrest the scorer, with a well placed header with 5 minutes to go.

In the dying moments off the game with East Calder tiring, Kieran Flynn rounded off the scoring to make it 7-1.

It was a convincing win for Fauldhouse, who were excellent, but East Calder will hope to boost their numbers in coming weeks to continue competing at the top end of the table.
