Coltswood Colts vs Bo'ness United - Under 13sColtswood Colts produced an incredible performance to blow away Bo'ness United and clinch the WLAYFC County Cup in style. First half goals from Luke Murphy and Lewis Watt sent them on way. Watt scored his second early in the second half, before Rhys Price, Darren McLeish and another goal from Price made the final score 6-0
Both sides were enjoying fine seasons going into the showpiece final at Livingston FC's Braidwood Motor Co Stadium. Coltswood had won eighteen of their nineteen league matches, drawing the other. Bo'ness were amongst their nearest challengers, sitting in fourth spot having only lost 3 matches all season. Both sides had came through four matches to reach this stage, with Bo'ness coming through a nervy penalty shoot out in their semi final against Broxburn.
The sun shone down on Livingston as the two Under 13 sides kicked off what was a packed weekend of cup final football in West Lothian, the first of six ties offering the prize of being crowned top side in the region. It didn't take long for the deadlock to be broken, Coltswood's Luke Murphy putting too much height and power on the ball for Bo'ness goalkeeper Ryan McCue to keep out.
Whilst Coltswood had the upper hand, Bo'ness were far from out of the tie which swept from end to end. Kristian French of United produced a saving tackle to deny Darren McLeish a shooting opportunity, before his team charged up the other end to force a series of corners. Coltswood's defence stood firm, repelling each one, and kept their lead intact.
After their early setback, Bo'ness would have been reasonably content to go in a goal behind at the break, giving them a chance to regroup. However, Coltswood had other ideas. In the final minute of the half Lewis Watt found space in the left hand side of the box and found the net with his effort, doubling his side's lead.

Half Time: Coltswood Colts Under 13s 2-0 Bo'ness United Under 13s
Coltswood Colts vs Bo'ness United - Under 13sThe second half was a masterclass by Coltswood from the first whistle. Whilst Bo'ness had competed well for long periods of the opening half, they were now struggling to get the ball as the boys in light blue and white stripes knocked it about with style.
Shortly after the restart Coltswood scored number three. Watt picked up from where he left off, racing past a couple of players before hitting a shot high over McCue and into the net.
The passing continued and the goals did too, with Rhys Price the next to get in on the act. Coltswood's skipper hit a 25-yard free kick with power and precision as it found its way underneath the crossbar. Another goal very few Under 13s goalkeepers could do anything about, due to their inability to touch the crossbar, but you couldn't take anything away from the superb strike.
Next to get in on the act was McLeish. The midfielder timed his run to perfection, motoring past two defenders on the left hand channel. After a controlling touch, he drove a fierce strike across goal into the bottom right.
Bo'ness continued to battle, putting in tackles and challenges whenever they could, but they couldn't stop Coltswood adding one further goal to their tally. Price picked the ball up on the edge of the box and drove it into the top left hand corner, once again giving the goalkeeper little chance.
In the closing stages United showed that they hadn't thrown the towel in, enjoying a better spell for the final few minutes. Lewis Connelly didn't stop running, but found little end product, and Jordan Wilson tried his luck from range but was unable to stretch Liam McWhinnie.
The final whistle blew and the Coltswood side, who had been vocally backed through, ran to celebrate in front of the crowd. It had been a match and performance to remember for them and Bo'ness can count themselves unfortunate to have came up against an excellent team who were at the top of their game.
