Clydesdale Bank Under 19 League
Rangers recovered from last week's defeat to Hibs, with an impressive performance and scoreline against the boys from Perth.
Rangers were out of the blocks quickly and had several early chances to grab the lead. After 31 minutes they made their dominance count, Fraser Aird charged away from his marker before delivering a lovely chip to the back post for skipper McAusland to head home.
Things were to get even better for the Gers 5 minutes later, Polish starlet Kamil Wiktorski burst down the line before cutting the ball back for Darren Ramsay to slide home from 12 yards.
Just before half time the referee adjudged that the Saints keeper had fouled Callum gallagher inside the box, the striker coolly stepped up to wrap the game up before half time.
Moments later St. Johnstone were awarded a penalty of their own, but Ryan Hutchinson could only watch as Alan Smith saved his effort to maintain Rangers three goal advantage going into the break.
It was to take just 1 minute of the restart for the visitor's to grab a lifeline, Hutchinson's shot from the edge of the area took a huge deflection off defender Robinson to wrong Smith.
The goal failed to stem the tide of Ranger's atatck's though, and they finally wrapped the game up with eleven minutes left to play. Ramsay played the ball to Matty Clarke, who smashed the ball past the on-rushing keeper to wrap up the victory
