Rangers do not currently play in the SPFL Development League, opting instead to grow their talent through experience in 'glamour' friendlies, to great effect it seems as they have just recently beaten the Bayern Munich under 20's team.
They carried on that form and opened the scoring against St. Johnstone. Saints weren't going to back down however and had one back through Shaun Struthers to bring the score back level at half-time.
The Perth side had their winner in the second half through Ali McCann and they managed to hold on to see them through to the quarter finals of the SFA Youth Cup, where they will square up against the green side of Glasgow, Celtic, away from home.
