Two teams from the same club were matched together in a Division 2 fixture, as league leaders Currie Star FC looked to strengthen their seven point advantage against their neighbours Currie Star Colts, who were sitting in mid-table looking for a result to climb the rankings.
The game started with immediate domination from Currie Star FC as they scored twice in the first 10 minutes, first from Harris Dracup who got on the end of a low cross from Callum Ritchie, and Marcus Forbes who picked up a misplaced defensive pass and finished to start off at 2-0.
Currie Star Colts responded right away as Lewis Muego hit an incredible strike from the right wing that dipped into the bottom left corner to make the score 2-1.
Currie Star FC managed to score again, after 20 minutes, as Josh Brock took a freekick from around 45 yards out and managed to score. However, it was disallowed as Colts were awarded a free kick, themselves, inside the box.
The Colts had a couple of chances afterwards but were not able to equalise before half time.
