Royal High School's Senior team followed up their midweek Scottish Cup victory over Galashiels with a strong performance and three league points. The opposition were James Young from Livingston in a tie which was hard to predict from the outset.
However, the Edinburgh side took the lead after being given the opportunity from the spot. James Young were guilty of handball and Tinashe Mukundwa made no mistake to put his side in front. With half time looming, High scored a vital second goal to provide a cushion. Jack Millar was the player on target, as he headed home from a corner kick.
The second half, like the first, was a scrappy affair with not much between the sides. A goalmouth scramble lead to James Young reducing the deficit, and at 2-1 it was certainly game on. However, Jon McInally put the tie to bed as the game entered its final stages. The ball was cut back into the six yard box and finished with ease, securing all three points for Royal High.
