Frequently asked questions:

Q: Is this only for students or people with lots of experience?
A: No, absolutely not. Last year our journalists ranged from graduates on the cusp of making it in the media sector who wished to enhance their portfolio, right through to Under 15 youth players who are looking for their first piece of work experience. So long as you are willing to learn, we are keen to hear from you. YFS also has a number of team members who have no desire to use us to further their career, but love the opportunity to make a difference to grass roots football.

Q: If I join the YFS team will I have to work every weekend?
A: No. We value all contributions and know everyone has different levels of commitment. So long as you are available a minimum of once per month we would like to hear from you. We also understand that some people will be completely free and then completely unavailable, e.g. exams and are completely flexible. Youth football is everywhere and everyday, so we'll always find a way to work around your schedule.

Q: Is there a minimum age limit?
A: No. If you are under 16 years of age then certain roles will require having a parent in attendance, but we are still keen to hear from you.

Q: I'm not sure if I am interested, but would like to hear more, what should I do?
A: Phone 0131 629-7903, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or tweet @yfst.
