Middlefield Wasps beat Culter Rovers 5-2 in an entertaining B League Clash at Aberdeen’s Aulton Outdoor Pitches. A Michal Wosinski hat-trick and strikes from Alex Seager and Cameron Spence ensured victory for the hosts.
The game started at a slow pace and had a 0-0 written all over it. It was Middlefield who had the first chance of the game as Harris Macleod’s shot went wide of the target.
Culter’s goalkeeper Jamie Deans made a good save as he tipped Harry Muirhead’s free kick over the crossbar to keep the score goalless.
Middlefield opened the scoring as a defensive mix-up in the Culter defence allowed Seager to tap the ball into an empty net to give his side the lead.
Minutes later it was 2-0 as Wosinski slotted the ball into the net after being set up from the left hand side to double the hosts’ lead.
Culter nearly pulled one back before the interval as Greg Carrell’s low effort was saved by Middlefield goalkeeper Tom Smith. Then Smith made another good stop as a corner from the right hand side was headed by Culter’s Ross White, only to be denied by Smith.
