Cults won the J.M trophy last Wednesday beating Banff 3-1, now Westhill stood in Cults's way in the Presidents Trophy final with the Aberdeenshire based School keen to get their hands on the trophy.
Brian Angus's side started the game at a good tempo and after 8 minutes, they were unlucky to have been caught out by an offside call, a great ball in from Mark Swan found Finlay Swan  who found the bottom left hand corner.
There was some decent spells in the 1st half for both teams and both had very good chances to get the breakthrough, Aiden Combe had an effort for Cults just go wide before Westhill's Clark Henderson's effort forced a good save out of Lenny Wilson.
Cults then had another chance on the stroke of half time, a great ball in from Alistair Treasure found Combe whose header just went inches wide of the left hand post.
The start of the 2nd half was a lot quieter unlike the 1st half and the opening exchanges of the half proved to be just a midfield tussle which was nothing that the healthy crowd who turned out for the game had wished for.
Aiden Combe was proving to be an ever existing presence for Cults and had a great chance to break the deadlock just 15 minutes into the half after he skipped past two Westhill defenders before unleashing a shot which Cameron Fraser in the Westhill goal claimed.
Cults went close again after another great ball in by Treasure found Lukas Geider whose half volley just went wide of the left hand post with Cults looking the more favourable to grabbing the 1st goal.
The men in green were desperate to win the game in regulation time and avoid the dreaded penalty shoot-out and had another chance through Combe again after a good through ball from Fraser Smith which just went over.
Westhill then had a chance after a great ball in by Ryan Spink was met by Clark Henderson which was parried out for a Westhill corner by Wilson, at the same time, the goalkeeper who plays with Arbroath got a nose bleed and had to be brought off.
Just as it looked like going to penalties, Cults got the ultimate breakthrough, a great ball in from Smith wasn't dealt properly by a Westhill defender and Geider was there to guide the ball past Fraser with what was the crucial moment in a tight cup final.
Cults Academy at all ages have already enjoyed good success this season and this trophy adds to that.

Aiden Combe had lots of chances that went over and also had a few chances to score however he gets the accolade for his work rate.
Ewan Ritchie was the driving force in the Westhill team and led by example to the younger guys in the team.
