This would be one of very few games to beat the elements today.

Before the game kicked off there was a minute’s applause for ex Albion player Cammy Smith.

Albion set off on the front foot and had their opponents pegged back in their own half for much of the opening exchanges, and it only took them until 12 minutes to open the scoring. Christie played in Hutcheson, who coolly beat the on rushing Whyte in the Glentanar goal.

A minute later and Albion were two up, this time striker Imrie setting up Wood to stroke home.

On 21 minutes Glentanar had their first opportunity. The strikers shot going inches wide of Rose’s left hand post. This would prove to be a costly miss as Albion midfielder Smith then set up Imrie who made it 3-0 on 27 minutes.

Albion were threatening to over run their opponents with some impressive passing football but there were to be no more goals as the first half finished 3-0.

Glentanar came out early for the 2nd half and waited for the home team. They were certainly up for the challenge and were closing Albion down a lot better than they had done in the first 35 minutes.

Substitute Bryce was taken down on the left hand side on 47 minutes and right back Ritchie sent in an inch perfect free kick for Imrie to head home his second and Albion’s fourth.

It was then Bryce who got on the scoresheet beating the over worked Whyte on 52 minutes.
Albion then changed formation with Imrie slotting in at the back to replace the injured Dalmon. Ritchie moved in to midfield and Christie came back on.

Left back Anderson then played a 30 yard cross field pass to find Smith who made no mistake with only the keeper to beat.
After 61 minutes the ever willing Wood played Christie in with a neat pass and the prolific striker made no mistake.

Five minutes later and the same combination resulted in Christie bagging his second and making it 8-0.
The scoring wasn’t over, Bryce netting in the final minute to make it 9-0.
