At Garioch Sports Centre, a windy morning had an added ingredient as by the time half time arrived it was quite dreich as well and it was to be quite heavy from the time Westdyke scored their goal until the 50th minute in what was a twenty minute spell.
It didn't affect the football on the 3G surface and after scores were level at half time, Colony managed to get three late goals to ensure their place in the next round of the competition where they will play last seasons Scottish Cup finalists Albion BC after they saw off Banchory 11-1.
Colony had the 1st chance of the game after Cameron Watt played a short pass into Jordan Cooper who then tried a 18 yard drive towards goal which was saved by Scott Brooks in the Westdyke goal. Park started the first opening of the game well and took their lead well in the 10th minute after Finlay Watson sent a good acute ball into the feet of Watt who tapped the ball into an empty with the away defence exposed.
This could possibly be described as a wake up call for Westdyke and started to get forward after the restart and a great through ball from Jamie Black went through the home defence and found its way into Ross Peddie who paced his way towards goal however unfortunately for the forward he did too much and Calum Wilson was able to intercept the danger.
Chances were few and far between in the 1st half however Colony could have doubled their lead on the half hour mark after a short pass from Thomas Riach found Watson however his 10 yard effort just went inches wide of the left hand post.
Westdyke were to grab a leveller before half time after a great corner came in by Cameron Jaffrey which was met by Jamie Black whose header found the bottom left hand corner, a great time for the visitors to grab a goal as just shortly afterwards the referee blew for the interval.

Half Time: Colony Park 1-1 Westdyke BC
Colony had an opportunity to re-take the lead in the 47th minute after Riach ran clean through of the Westdyke defence after a through ball from Jordan Cooper however his close range effort was wonderfully saved by Brooks in the visitors goal. Brooks was called into action again a short time later after he produced another good save to deny Ross Craigen after a long ball was sent into the feet of the player. Colony were to get the rub of the green that they were looking for soon.
Westdyke were to try and get a goal though to give them the lead for the 1st time in the game and nearly got one after a through ball found its way into forward Ross Peddie however his 15 yard effort just went inches wide of the left hand post.
The home side were to take the lead again in the 68th minute after a great ball from the left hand side was sent in by Jordan Cooper which was met by Ross Craigen who managed to volley it home to put park in the drivers seat. Just shortly after Cameron Watt was trying to add to the Colonys tally and his goalscoring tally however his 20 yard effort which was goalbound was tipped over the bar by Scott Brooks.
Park then doubled their advantage after a through ball from Watt which found Ross Craigen who gave Brooks no chance with his effort finding the top left hand corner with his 14 yard effort. Colony made sure of their place in the next round thanks to a great ball being sent in by Cameron Smith which found defender Bryce Dawson who nodded it home to complete a good day at the office for the hosts.
