ADJFA review: Sunday 1st September

The first league game for in the Under 13's A league game saw Lewis United A beat FDS 2001 4-1 whilst in the B league Westdyke Thistle came away from Newtonhill with a 3-2 victory.

The Batt Cables is now starting to take shape. Albion cemented their place in the A league after a 4-1 win away to Cove. Peterhead know victory over Culter will also give them a place in the A league after a 5-2 win away to Ellon Meadows.

A win for Byron Munich over Newmachar United meant Dyce would be in the A league before they even kicked a ball against United, Munich won this game 5-3.

Banchory made the short journey to Insch and ran out 8-1 winners in group 4, Colony Park brushed aside Colts in the Inverurie derby and will play Donside to determine who will either be in the A or B league.

Deveronvale made sure of their place in the A league after a play off victory against Kemnay in what was an exciting match for the neutral.

Lewis United B won 8-1 at home to Turriff however they will be relying on their opponents to win this Sunday when they play host to Huntly with the latter currently top in the quest for A league status. 

At Under 14 level Albion have started where they have left off and picked up another three points thanks to goals from Lewis Hutchison (4), a hat trick from Connor Wood with Calum Beattie and Fraser Bryce adding to the tally.

Paul Lawrie achieved a 4-2 victory away to newly promoted Culter Colts and Dyce picked up a 5-0 win at home to Glentanar, Lewis United A picked up a convincing win away to Peterhead, Westdyke and Deveronvale shared the spoils drawing 1-1.

The B league saw Cove pick up a convincing win at home to Culter United (pictured above right - the teams in action), Ellon Meadows and Fraserburgh Link Up came back from Aberdeen with wins over North Star and Middlefield Wasps. There was two 4-4 draws in the league featuring Banchory BC and Colony Park and also Paul Lawrie Foundation Eagles and Portlethen.

In the C league Newtonhill picked up all three points away to Byron Pumas, Dee beat Colony Colts 4-2, in a central Aberdeenshire derby Turriff Bombers swept aside Huntly winning 4-3, there was wins for Kintore United and Newmachar United over North Star Phoenix and Formartine United meanwhile Kemnay picked up a good result in Stonehaven.

Lastly, at Under 15's, Albion have now scored 24 goals in two games without no reply from either Colony Park or Peterhead Phoenix after their convincing win away to Park.

There was home wins for Formartine United and Lewis United as they beat Culter and Westdyke 4-2 and 2-0 respectively.

Dyce have started well once again and recorded a great win over Peterhead Phoenix with the latter having two of their hardest games to begin the season away to Albion and then Dyce.

Fraserburgh Link Up still have a 100% record after a 4-1 win over Paul Lawrie, the goalscorers for the Broch were Liam Cameron, an own goal, Evan Dyka and Scott Roger.

Meanwhile in league B Banchory beat Huntly. Bervie Caley edged past Deveronvale, Newtonhill won 3-1 at Byron Spurs, Culter Deeside won 5-3 against Kemnay and Balmedie brushed aside Stoneywood.

The C league saw Middlefield beat Culter Rovers 6-3, Ellon won a close fought game against Donside Juvenile winning 3-1, Newmachar were no pushovers for Glentanar, and Deeside won a nine goal thriller against Mintlaw Rovers.
