U13 Belmont Trophy - QF
Currie Star hosted Fernieside in the last eight of the Belmont Trophy - a divisional cup for second tier sides in the South East Region YFL. Having already secured the Tom Welsh Cup, and sitting top of the league, Star were looking to take another step towards the Division 2 treble.

Fernieside shocked their hosts by taking a 15th minute lead, with a well taken goal. However the advantage was shot lived, with Star's Russell Cairns scoring an equaliser ten minutes later.
Cairns then turned provided, when he set up Jack Passmore to put Currie into the lead before the interval.

The second half saw the home side extend their lead further. Max Bendle, who had been a strong performer throughout, played a through ball for Cairns who squared a pass into the path of James Cameron, who was left with a simple finish.

Both teams had chances in the closing stages, but there were no further goals, giving Currie a 3-1 victory. The reward for Star is a semi final tie away to Dalkeith. In the other half of the draw, Leith Athletic Colts have already secured their place in the final.
