While many games were falling to the weather, the young goalkeepers of Peterhead had a footballing weekend to remember, thanks to the visit of a special guest.
Louise Cardno of Peterhead BC, said: "Paul Swanston, who runs the Peterhead Boys Goalkeeping Club, got in touch with Andy Goram through the True Blue Rangers Fan Club in Peterhead, who told us Andy was up over the weekend of the Rangers vs Peterhead game. Andy kindly agreed to come along to the astro turf next to Peterhead Stadium and take a session with all the boys on Saturday 19th January."
She continued: "Peterhead boys goalkeeping club was set up through help and encouragement from Ali Hynd, Peterhead Boys Club chairman, Paul Swanston and two other coaches. They are all ex goalkeepers who have achieved there relevant coaching qualifications and set up the club to benefit and support Peterhead Boys Club team coaches with extra dedicated goalkeeper training. All Peterhead boys club keepers are welcomed to come along every friday night for coaching."
Peterhead Boys Club and Peterhead Boys Goalkeeping Club would like to say how indebted and thankful they are to have had Andy take the time out to share his expert advice with the boys and the session was greatly enjoyed by everyone.
