This game was moved to an astroturf pitch to get the game played and it was Cove who made the brighter start of the two sides. In the 4th minute of the game Nicky Lynch cleverly flicked the ball through for Drew Canale but Liam Cook was sharp on his line to deny Cove an early advantage. Just two minutes later and Canale had another chance to open the scoring after Kyle Bilsland slipped the ball through to him but the keeper denied him again.

Midway through the half and Lynch had the easiest of all chances to put Cove into the lead. Robert Wilson delivered in a dangerous corner and the ball proceeded all the way to the back post but Lynch miskicked the ball and completely missed the target. The game was really starting to even out all over the pitch and Scott Kennington played the ball through for Cameron MacIntosh but his cross come shot hit the side netting.

In the 25th minute of the game Canale looked destined to score as he was one on one with the keeper but Cook made himself big and made a tremendous save to keep the scores level. However only moments later and Canale had eventually got the better of Cook, Cameron Smith made a clearance in the middle of the pitch and Lynch knocked the ball into Canale's stride and he finished coolly into the bottom left corner of the net.

2 minutes after the restart and Banchory had found a leveller. Robert Herrington swung in a deep corner and Cameron MacIntosh was left unmarked 6 yards out and he had the simplest of tasks to tap the ball into the net to put this game straight back on level terms.

Just 1 minute after this restart and Banchory took the lead. Scott Kennington's interception in the middle of the pitch fell kindly to MacIntosh who drove forward into the box and stayed calm to round George Mitchell and tap the ball home to round off 3 minutes of madness!

Banchory extended their lead further just a minute before half time. Fraser Wyness created space in the box and knocked the ball inside to Herrington whose shot just had too much on it for Mitchell to keep out as the ball crawled over the line.

Half Time: Banchory BC 3-1 Cove BC

Cove almost had a goal back just 3 minutes into the second half after Smith's long range shot hit off the bar, Cook smothered onto Ben Church's rebound when he looked more likely to score. Banchory took advantage of that miss and went up the pitch and scored a goal of their own as Kerr Docherty drove forward from the right back position and played the ball inside to MacIntosh who had space on the edge of the box and he played the ball over Mitchell into the corner of the net to round off his hat-trick.

The 48th minute of the game saw Cove almost reduce this deficit once more as Canale cut inside the pitch from the left and his shot was tipped round the post but it wasn't far away from creeping into the corner of the net.

Two minutes later Banchory created a good move down the left hand side with Wyness playing the ball inside to MacIntosh who cut the ball back to Kennington but his shot struck off the post.

The 65th minute of the game saw Banchory get their 5th goal of the game after Mitchell rolled the ball quickly to Josh Newlands who dwelled on the ball and Kennington closed down well and won the ball and then his efforts were rewarded with a goal which he dispatched in smart fashion.

Moments later and MacIntosh got his 4th goal of the game and Banchory's 6th as he was played in he just passed the ball into the net but Mitchell should have denied him this time. Banchory almost had another with 9 minutes left to play as Herrington's shot was defleced it fell kindly to Dominic Bradburn but his effort skimmed off the bar and went over.

Cameron MacIntosh scored four goals but also linked up well with the midfield and continued to work hard all the way through the game.

Drew Canale worked endlessly for the Cove side and always made intelligent runs in behind the Banchory defence. Deserved his goal and was unlucky not to score more.
