Fraserburgh V Cove U19sThe SFA Youth Cup had reached the Highland League and a great tie was expected between two of the Highland League heavyweights Fraserburgh and Cove Rangers, there was seven goals in the game with the Broch edging out by a three goal margin.

Cove have normally done well in this tournament but Fraserburgh were to be just the more energetic than the Aberdeen side were and that's what decided the game.

Fraserburgh had the first chance of the game after John Chalmers feeded the ball into Ryan Gordon who then just had his former goalkeeper at Deveronvale Stewart Milne to beat but Milne stood firm and the ball came to Grant Thomson and the big goalkeeper did enough to deny Broch the opener.

Against the run of play Cove took the lead after a great through ball by Stuart Taylor sent through Michael Gunn and from ten yards out he put it right through Joe Barbour's legs and into the middle of the net to send Rangers a goal to the good.

The hosts were to track back just five minutes later a long ball by Scott Wisely found Jamie Ramsey and the winger rounded Stewart Milne and tucked it away safely to give Fraserburgh the equaliser.

Fraserburgh were then hungry for a second goal after they produced some great passing and Courtney Cooper got on the end of a Grant Thomson cross but Cooper's effort was wonderfully saved by Stewart Milne.

Jamie Ramsey went from scorer to provider after he recieved the ball from John Chalmers and then got himself into a dangerous position on the right hand wing and then crossed it into Ryan Gordon and from ten yards Gordon side-footed the shot into the bottom left hand corner.

Fraserburgh V Cove U19sHalf Time: Fraserburgh 2-1 Cove Rangers

Cove got themselves an equaliser four minutes into the second half after a brilliant corner kick came in by Ben McGregor from the right hand side which was met by Ryan Stewart who headered it under the crossbar and in.

Broch were to get their noses in front again after a great ball sent in on the left hand flank by Courtney Cooper found James Gibb and he side footed it past Stewart Milne from six yards.

Fraserburgh were to keep attacking at their opponents and another brilliant move by the hosts saw Jamie Ramsay put in a quality ball on the left hand wing for James Gibb. However, Gibb couldn't connect and it came to Ryan Gordon who was quite patient before releasing his shot and he managed to find the target but Milne denied him once again.

Ryan Gordon was to get himself a brace though after he collected the ball from John Chalmers who then pounded his way into the penalty area and his deflected shot meant Stewart Milne had no chance of stopping it.

Fraserburgh completed the scoring on 77 minutes after John Chalmers was to be an assist again and played it into James Gibb who then went into the penalty area and placed it into the bottom right hand corner.

The hosts had one last chance to add to their lead after an ambitious 35 yard free kick by Daniel Cowie was struck towards goal and Stewart Milne saved it but it wouldn't have made any dividends as Broch's place in the next round was already secure.
