The final game of the season for The Colts U15's saw them face Peterhead in the Consolation Cup Final at the University of Aberdeen's Balgownie Playing Fields.

With two wins, a draw, and a loss, against the Peterhead side already this season the Colts knew they were up against a tough side. From the start of the game, The Colts had greater possession and dictated the pace of play.
It took time for both sides nerves to settle down and begin playing football. In the tenth minute, the game sparked into life when Neilson curled a strike
direct from a corner against the crossbar.
Three minutes later, Center's strike from the edge of the box had the keeper beat, only to be denied by the upright. On the 20 minute mark, Neilson was bundled over 25 yards from goal to win a freekick. Jay MUNRO stepped up to the mark and curled an unstoppable strike past the Peterhead keeper to make it 1-0.

This inspired The Colts, who began playing some of the best football seen all season. Just minutes later, an outstanding cross field ball by Munro allowed Hay to break free and attempt an audacious chip, which the keeper scrambled clear of the goal. In the 37th minute, Munro had another good free kick tipped against the bar, the rebound went straight to Hay, who headed agonisingly over the bar.
The first half was an impressive spectacle but there were improvements that could be made. At the half time break, The Colts were encouraged to be more clinical in their finishing and maintain their impressive work ethic.

The second half started much as the first half finished. The Colts maintained their domination and after five minutes, Center drove down the left by-line and into the box and laid a perfectly weighted ball for George NEILSON to fire into the bottom right and make it 2-0.
Peterhead had a brief improvement, with their first shot on goal, which Lewis Sutherland was equal to. Unfazed by the comeback, Center turned provider again, with a stunning pass into the path of Conor BOLDA, who struck past the advancing keeper to make it 3-0.

Another impressive save from Sutherland kept Peterhead at bay. This helped The Colts keep going and had a noticeably disheartening effect on the Peterhead side. However it was clear both sides still really wanted to win the game.
As both sides tired, The Colts had more of the ball but attack after attack was scuppered by Peterhead, who refused to give up.

In the 78th minute, Stuart Alexander played an excellent ball to Bolda who glanced wide of the gaping target but The Colts did manage to add a fourth before the end when Greg CENTER hit a speculative strike, which was spilled by the keeper and trickled over the line.

A resounding 4-0 victory ended a season which has seen The Colts improve drastically. The game saw some fantastic football played and admiral fight and determination for the whole game. A great end to the season which saw the parents and fans express how proud and impressed they were with The Colts in the Final and throughout the whole season. Well done lads!
